ZenFone 6

The ASUS ZenFone is a series of Android smartphones designed, marketed and produced by ASUS. It was announced at the 2014 Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas, Nevada for the First Generation ZenFone's. The ZenFone features the Intel Atom (system on chip) processors and it features the Android operating system, Asus ZenFone also features the Asus Zen UI which is a user interface from Asus. The Second Generation ZenFone is the ZenFone 2 which comes in 3 different models but carries the same name.

First Generation

ZenFone 4

The ZenFone 4 is the 4-inch WVGA (800x480) TFT display model. The ZenFone 4 features a 1.2 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2520 saltwell processor, a 5 MP rear & 0.3 MP front camera and 1GB RAM. However, ZenFone 4 does not have an LED flash unlike rest of the models in the ZenFone series.[1][2]

The ZenFone 5 is the mid range of the series and includes a 5-inch 1280x720 HD IPS display. It came in of either a 8/16/32 GB of internal storage and up to 128 GB of external storage via exfat, this Zenfone features either a 1.2/1.6 GHz dual-core Hyper-threaded (dubbed Multicore) Intel Atom Z2560 processor or a 2.0 GHz Intel Atom Z2580 with the same Multicore configuration,[3] an 8 megapixel rear and 2 megapixel front camera.

This phone comes with 2GB of RAM in comparison to other models and features at a competitive price. However, some of the earlier productions of this phone came with just 1 GB of RAM.

This phone also comes as an A500KL LTE version with the same specs but with the CPU changed to a Qualcomm MSM8926 QuadCore 1.2 GHz.

The 1.2 GHz version of A501CG with 8 GB internal storage is priced at Rs. 7999.

Upon its release in Indonesia, ASUS service center reported a high number of device faulty especially in the motherboard. Another problem in Zenfone 5 is that the shutter lag is significantly higher than Zenfone 4 and 6

ZenFone 6

The ZenFone 6 is the 6-inch 1280x720 IPS display model. The ZenFone 6 features a 2 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2580 processor, a 13 megapixel rear camera and 2 megapixel front-facing camera. The ZenFone 6 is equipped with 8 GB, 16 GB or 32 GB of internal memory, it depends from the version,[4] external memory of up to 64 GB, and 2 GB of RAM.[5] Zenfone's released on April 11, 2014 ranging from INR 9999 to INR 16999 only. Comes with Intel Atom z2560 (1,6 GHz instead of 2,0 GHz of the original z2580 model) in Turkey, with sale price of TRY 800. The processor is equipped with a PowerVR SGX 544 MP2 GPU which enables users to play a variety of demanding games for instance Real Racing 3. Benchmark results of Zenfone 6 are average, however its everyday usage is smooth with almost no lag at all.[6]

Second Generation

ZenFone 2

The ZenFone 2 was announced at CES 2015. The flagship ZE551ML model launched with Android 5.0 Lollipop running Asus's custom Zen UI and is a 5.5" Full HD (1920x1080) IPS display.The model comes in two variants either a 64-bit quad-core 2.3 GHz Intel Atom Z3580 processor with 4 GB of RAM, one the first smartphones to have this much RAM, or a 1.8 GHz Atom Z3560 with 2 GB of RAM; PowerVR 6430 GPU. The phone also includes dual MicroSIM card slots; a 13 MP rear-facing camera and 5 MP front-facing camera; a non-removable 3000 mAh Lithium polymer battery; 16, 32, or 64 Gigabytes of internal storage; and a MicroSD Card slot (up to 64 GB). The base 2 GB model was priced at $199 at its CES unveiling. Additionally, Asus announced two other models of the Zenfone 2. The ZE550ML comes with a 5.5" HD (1280x720) IPS display, but otherwise features identical specifications to the 2GB ZE551ML. The ZE500CL, the low cost variant, comes with a 5" HD display, a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z2560 dual-core processor, 2 GB of RAM, a single MicroSIM slot, 8 MP rear and 2 MP front cameras, and a 2500 mAh battery.

ASUS ZenFone 2 was launched in Taiwan on March 9, 2015.[7]

ZenFone Zoom

The ZenFone Zoom was announced at CES 2015 and along with ZenFone 2, it's one of the first phones to offer 4 Gigabytes of RAM. The specifications are largely same as the Zenfone 2, with the exception of the Camera. It has a 13 MP at the Back along with 3x Optical Zoom and 12x Digital Zoom, Real Tone Flash, Optical Image Stabilization, and Laser Auto-Focus. It is priced at around $399 for the 2 Gigabyte RAM version.
