Astro AEC (the acronym for Asian Entertainment Channel) is a 24-hour in house Mandarin-generic television channel from Malaysia, owned by Astro on channel 301 (SD). It offers local content, as well as programmes from China, Taiwan, Singapore and Japan. Astro AEC is currently available for free to all Astro and NJOI customers in Malaysia on Channel 301 (SD).
Astro AEC HD is the simulcast HD version of Astro AEC. It was launched on 16 November 2014 for all Astro customers that subscribed to HD service on channel 306. Selected programmes on Astro Quan Jia HD are no longer showing with SD version of Astro AEC, such as Astro Classic Golden Melody Singing Competition, Evening Edition, etc.
HD version of Astro AEC is coming soon for all NJOI customers on Channel 306.
