Ashton West Metrolink station is a tram stop on the East Manchester Line (EML) of Greater Manchester's light-rail Metrolink system. It was built as part of Phase 3b of the Metrolink's expansion, and is located on Lord Sheldon Way near the Ashton Moss leisure complex, in western Ashton-under-Lyne, Tameside, England.[3] The station opened on 9 October 2013,[2] ahead of the originally-publicised schedule of the winter of 2013–14.[4]

Services

Trams are scheduled along the East Manchester line westbound towards Manchester Piccadilly station before continuing through the city centre towards other destinations, whilst eastbound trams head towards Ashton-under-Lyne. Trams run every 12 minutes Monday-Saturday daytime, planned to increase to every 6 minutes at peak times. On Sundays and Bank Holidays, this reduces to a 15-minute service for much of the day.[4]
