Ashok Bhandari. (formal name Wonderking) (अशोक भंडारी) (born 25 July 1953) is an Indian magician and musician.[1] He plays several musical instruments, including harmonica. He now teaches harmonica and only performs corporate magic shows.

Early life

Bhandari's father settled in Delhi in 1935 and worked as an art teacher in Birla schools. At the age of 15 he decided to manufacture a detergent called Friends Washing Product. He later left that business and went to Varanasi for further studies.At Varanasi seeing Babas in Varanasi he developed an interest in magic. To support his work in magic, he started doing harmonica shows.

Professional career

After graduation and postgraduate study he moved to Delhi to work in the magic business. After 7 years he got a chance to perform in Finland and Italy, on about 20 trips. In 1986 he performed in Switzerland at Zurich, Geneva and Basel . He performed a non-stop 3 month illusion show at the Hawaiian Centre in Japan. Following this he performed in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and more shows in Japan. From 2001 to 2007 he traveled all over India doing ticketing shows. In 2007 he perform for Abdullah II, the King of Jordan.

In 2009 he launched the career of his son, Krishna Bhandari. Krishna Bhandari's career was launched with his fathers student Nijatam Arora. They perform together now, with Ashok Bhandari's help.

Ashok Bhandari is presently working on releasing a harmonica album.
