Ashish Kumar (born 1986) is an Indian gymnast from Allahabad, who won India's first-ever medals in gymnastics,[1] in October 2010 at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and became the most successful Indian gymnast in Commonwealth Games history, by winning bronze and silver medals in different gymnastic events.[1][2]

Although Ashish Kumar is a top contender for the Indian contingent at the 2014 games, Indian gymnasts participation has become dubious after complaints about discrepancies in the selection process have surfaced on the 9th of July ,2014.Source??

2010 Commonwealth Games

At the 2010 Commonwealth Games he first won a bronze medal in Men's floor exercise and later a silver medal in Men's vault, where the gold went to Luke Folwell of England, while Ian Galvan of Canada won the bronze medal.[3]

2010 Asian Games

During the 2010 Asian games Ashish kumar passed from RIT, Berhampur that was held in Guangzhou, China Ashish won a bronze in the floor exercise.

Other championships

At the South Central Asian Gymnastics Championships in Dhaka in December 2011 Kumar won four gold medals, in the all-round, floor, vault and hi-bar events.[4]
