Asajaya (Chinese: 雅沙再也) is a small Sarawakian town located in the Samarahan Division. Most of its inhabitants are made up of the Malay, Chinese and Iban people. Asajaya has a small town, known as Pekan Asajaya. It is a focal point for the residents nearby. There is a district office - Pejabat Daerah Asajaya, which translates as Asajaya District Office. One of the most important ways to expand or make Asajaya as advanced as other comparable towns is through education. The schools in Asajaya play an important role in the education of residents of Asajaya. There was previously a clinic in asaya but it was destroyed in fire.
Education
There are a few primary schools - SJK Chung Hua Asajaya, SK Asajaya Ulu, SJK Chung Hua Semera, SJK Chung Hua Jemukan and so on. There are also three secondary school - SMK Pesantren (only for Muslims), SMK Asajaya and SMK Semera. Those who passed their UPSR (Ujian Permeriksaan Sekolah Rendah) exam in Primary Six can choose their own secondary school, meanwhile for those who failed will have to go to SMK Asajaya, as that is the only secondary school with transition classes.
