Asa Taccone is the son of Sue Ellen and Tony Taccone, and was born in Berkeley, California. He is the lead singer of the indie rock band Electric Guest with Matthew "Cornbread" Compton. Brothers Tory Dahlhoff and Todd Dahlhoff join them on tour. His older brother Jorma Taccone is part of the trio The Lonely Island with Akiva Schaffer and Andy Samberg. Asa has produced some of The Lonely Island's music for Saturday Night Live Digital Shorts and has received an Emmy for the song Dick In A Box. Asa started out producing rap and has also written songs for Charlotte Gainsbourg.^[1]

Taccone wrote the original songs for several American Dad! episodes, including Hot Water, Minstrel Krampus and Rubberneckers.

Taccone has composed the old and new Springfield anthem from The Simpsons episode, "Walking Big & Tall".
