Arun Kumar Ahuja
Arun Kumar Ahuja (January 17, 1917 - July 3, 1998) was an Indian film actor and producer who was active the Bollywood film industry in the 1940s. He was born in pre-partition Gujranwala, Punjab, India in 1917. He married singer and actress Nirmala Devi in 1941 after they were cast opposite each other in Savera. He was father to four daughters and two sons. His youngest son is actor Govinda and his other son Kirti Kumar is a former actor and director.[1] He is grandfather of actors Vinay Anand, Krishna Abhishek and actress Ragini Khanna.
He was brought into films by director Mehboob Khan who cast him in the leading role in Ek Hi Raasta in 1939. In 1940 he acted in Mehboob Khan's Aurat, an earlier version of the more famous Mother India (1957). He acted in many more films throughout the 1940s and early 1950s before he quit acting to become a producer. The one film he produced was a flop and he never produced or acted again after his last film Aulad (1954). He died in 1998 at the age of 81 of a heart attack.[2]
