Arthur C. Neville

Arthur C. Neville was Mayor of Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Biography

Neville was born Arthur Courtenay Neville on October 13, 1850 in Pottsville, Pennsylvania.[1] He moved with his family to Green Bay in 1856. Neville's father, J. C. Neville, also served as Mayor of Green Bay, as well as in the Wisconsin State Assembly. He married Harriet Reynolds in 1874. She died later that year. He later married Ella (Hoes) Peak, who was the great-niece of U.S. President Martin Van Buren. Neville had no children of his own, however Ella had one daughter from her first marriage. On May 20, 1929, Neville died from a myocardial infarction.

Career

Neville served as Mayor from 1888 to 1889. He was a lawyer by trade.
