Artan Mansouri
Artan Mansouri, (born 31 December 1991, Stockholm, Sweden) is a Swedish/Persian artist, designer and entrepreneur.
Biography
Artan grew up in Stockholm as a single-child in his family and in his teens he began to paint graffiti. The young artist is also a fan of Hip-Hop and Rap music and he tends to freestyle rap during his free-time with his friends. His first trip to Iran was at the age of 18 with his father, in which he met most of his relatives. Artan has been kin to keep his alias integrity due to the rules of the graffiti culture, which has resulted that nothing is publicly known about his illegal work. In the third year of high school, he came in contact with Junior Achievement, where he started his first business. It was a while after his trip to Iran that he started his own online shopping website.[1]
Art
Despite his young age, Artan Mansouri has managed to make a name for himself on the Scandinavian art scene. Artan has held exhibitions and workshops at venues such as the Nobel Museum.[2]
After being spoken of in media, Scandinavia's biggest hip-hop platform showed interest in him and during 2012 he became editor of art and graffiti at Kingsize Magazine
.[3] During his work he met other artists such as Futura 2000 [4] and André Saraiva.[5]
Fashion
2012 Artan Mansouri continued on creating a streetwear brand highly focused on his art. In collaboration with the charity organization Stockholm stadsmission they launched a project about the streets of Stockholm and raised money for homeless persons.[6] Artans collection was retailed by Nordiska Kompaniet which is Sweden's biggest department store for luxurious fashion and lifestyle brands.[7]
That same year, Artan designed a limited edition tee for Reebok Classic that never was released commercially by unknown reasons. Artans clothing appears frequently on high profiled people, such as Swedish hiphop artist Petter.[8]
Entrepreneurship
During 2011, Artan Mansouri participated in the television show "Idéfabriken", A series about Sweden's sharpest young entrepreneurs. The show was broadcast on Swedish national television and used as educational purposes in all high schools for students who studied economy or entrepreneurship. In the series he presented a lifestyle accessory connected to your smartphone that locates your missplaced items and keep track of what you attach it to.[9]
