Arnaud Ventura is an entrepreneur and co-founder of PlaNet Finance Group.[1] He is also the founder of MicroCred Group, a microfinance investment company; co-founder mBank Holding, a mobile banking microfinance group;[2] and co-founder of LH Forum, the Positive Economy Movement.[3]
Biography
As a young Internet entrepreneur, Arnaud Ventura proposed the idea of setting up an international organization using Internet to develop microfinance. In December 1997, Arnaud Ventura met with Jacques Attali who had developed the idea of a virtual bank using Internet to support microenterprise during an Aspen Institute conference. Both Jacques Attali and Arnaud Ventura worked together to create PlaNet Finance,[3] in Paris, in October 1998.
Before co-founding PlaNet Finance, Arnaud worked for BNP Paribas in France and Argentina. Prior to that Arnaud participated in the creation of two leading Internet providers in France and in Thailand (Club-Internet & Internet Thaïland).
