Ardah

Ardah at Jenadriyah 27

Ardah (Arabic: العرضة / ALA-LC: al-‘arḍah) is a type of folkloric dance in Saudi Arabia. Originally, the "ardah" was performed only by the Shammar tribe of the central Nejd region before going to war, but nowadays it is done at celebrations or cultural events by all tribes, such as the Jenadriyah festival. The dance, which is performed by men carrying swords or canes, is accompanied by drums and spoken poetry.
