ArdShinInvestBank is an Armenian bank with headquarters in Yerevan. As of 2014, it is the third largest bank in Armenia by assets.[1] The name Ardshininvestbank in Armenian is an acronym of its full name Bank for Industry, Construction and Investment closed joint stock company.
History
The bank was registered and licensed by the Central Bank of Armenia in 2003. Right after that it acquired a significant part of assets and liabilities, as well as wide branch network of former Ardshinbank and Armagrobank.[2]
History of former Ardshinbank starts from March 1924 when in the Soviet Armenia "Communal" and "Agricultural" banks were established for purposes of providing finance to state enterprises, population and those who carry out construction. In 1959 the Armenian branch of “Shinbank” took over the activities of "Communal", "Agricultural" and "Industrial" banks under one bank. In 1987 on the basis of "Shinbank" the "Industrial and Constructive" bank Ardshinbank was founded which has developed its activities until 2002. In 2003, when former Ardshinbank registered major financial difficulties, a newly created Ardshininvestbank took over considerable part of its assets and liabilities and its network of 24 branches. In autumn of 2003 Ardshininvestbank acquired the network of 35 branches of self-liquidating “Armagrobank”.[3]
