Archie Taiaroa

Sir Archie Taiaroa, KNZM (born 3 January 1937; died 21 September 2010) was a prominent Maori. He chaired the Whanganui River Maori Trust Board[1] and chaired Te Ohu Kaimoana for five years.[2] He was named Distinguished Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2003 and was knighted in 2009. In the following year he died of a stroke.[3]
