Archana Sharma (botanist)
Prof. Archana Sharma (1932–2008) was a renowned cytogeneticist and cytotoxicologist.[1] Her widely recognized initial contributions include the study of chromosome structure by a new technique. Her research and findings on chromosomal study on flowering plants have led to a new set of perceptions on their classification.[2] She was the founding editor of Nucleus, an international journal of cytology and allied topics. Her book, Chromosome Techniques: Theory and Practice, was acclaimed.[3] and cited. She served as President of the Indian Science Congress[4](1986–87)
