Aptynty [apˈtɨntɨ] (German Aftinten) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Barciany, within Kętrzyn County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland, close to the border with the Kaliningrad Oblast of Russia.[1] It lies approximately 11 kilometres (7 mi) north-west of Barciany, 25 km (16 mi) north of Kętrzyn, and 77 km (48 mi) north-east of the regional capital Olsztyn.
Before 1945 the area was part of Germany (East Prussia). After World War II the region was placed under Polish administration and ethnically cleansed according to the post-war Potsdam Agreement. The native German populace was expelled and replaced with Poles.
The village has a population of 250.
