Anup K. Ghosh

Anup Ghosh, Ph.D., is Founder and CEO at Invincea. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia. Dr. Ghosh and Invincea have been honored with numerous awards throughout his career, including Top 5 Most Admired CEOs in Technology, Washington Business Journal; Office of the Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Public Service; and “Most Innovative Company of the Year” at RSA Conference 2011.

Career

Prior to founding Invincea, Dr. Ghosh was a Program Manager at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) where he created and managed an extensive portfolio of cyber security programs. He has previously held roles as Chief Scientist in the Center for Secure Information Systems at George Mason University and as Vice President of Research at Cigital Inc.

Dr. Ghosh has served on the Naval Studies Board and the Air Force Scientific Advisory Board.

Dr. Ghosh's current company, Invincea, provides advanced endpoint security solutions. The Invincea solution places a “secure virtual container” around vulnerable PC applications, preventing attackers from accessing sensitive corporate data or damaging critical systems. It also identifies and helps remediate existing compromises on end user systems. Invincea maintains an OEM agreement with Dell to ship a customized version of Invincea’s award-winning endpoint security solution on Dell's entire line of commercial market PCs and tablets, under the "Dell Data Protection | Protected Workspace" brand.

Publications and Commentary

Dr. Ghosh has published more than 40 peer-reviewed articles in cyber security journals. In addition, he is a frequent on-air contributor to CNN, CNBC, NPR and Bloomberg TV. A number of major media outlets carry his commentaries on cyber security issues including the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Forbes, Associated Press, Fox News and USA Today.
