Antonio Márquez Ramírez (May 22, 1936 October 22, 2013) was a Mexican football referee. He is known for having refereed two matches in the 1986 FIFA World Cup in Mexico. He was one of the top Mexican referees of his time. He retired shortly after the World Cup, his last match was between América v Chivas de Guadalajara at the Estadio Azteca which culminated in a big fight between the two teams when Fernando Quirarte was sent off by Márquez and then Quirarte was kicked in the shin by Carlos Hermosillo who was also sent off, then Hermosillo on his way out kicked Quirarte in the face when he was down and that started the brawl, which culmitated in the game suspended at the 72nd minute and sending off every member of both teams (however, the remaining 18 minutes of the match were played a month later with Edgardo Codesal as the referee and both teams had to play with different players as everyone was sent off).
