Judge Anthony Palmer is a justice of the Supreme Court of British Columbia[1] who lives in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.[2]

In March 2007, he sentenced a 71-year-old man to 12 years in prison for having sexually abused his children more than thirty years prior.[3] The following month, he declined to give a prison sentence to a teen who had been driving in violation of his learner's permit and who had thereby accidentally killed a pedestrian.[4] Instead, Judge Palmer gave the teen a 240-hour community service sentence, a 2-year probation, and a 5-year driving prohibition.[5] In December of that year, Judge Palmer found Michael Buna, a chiropractor, guilty of sexually assaulting female clients.[6] In July 2008, he released Randolph Whitman on bail; Whitman had been charged with criminal harassment.[7] In May 2012, Judge Palmer issued Stephen Charlie a 4-month sentence for assault causing bodily harm, a 2-year sentence for extortion, a 3-year sentence for aiding a girl in prostitution, and a 3-year sentence for procuring, all to be served concurrently.[8] In March 2013, Judge Palmer sentenced David James Chiasson to 3 years in prison for causing death by dangerous driving.[9] Judge Palmer also required Chiasson to provide a DNA sample and prohibited Chiasson from driving for 10 years.[10]
