Anthony Hoskyns-Abrahall

Anthony Leigh Egerton Hoskyns-Abrahall was the Anglican Bishop of Lancaster from 1955 until 1975.[1]

Hoskyns-Abrahall was educated at Britannia Royal Naval College and Westcott House, Cambridge.[2] He was ordained in 1931 and was a curate at St Mary’s Portsea before becoming a chaplain at Shrewsbury School. During the Second World War was a chaplain with the RNVR[3] and was then Vicar of St Michael’s Aldershot before his ordination to the episcopate. He died on 1 May 1982.[4]
