Anthill: A Novel is the first extended work of fiction written by Edward O. Wilson. The novel, published in 2010, won the Chicago Tribune's Heartland Prize for fiction.[1]
Anthill is set in Alabama and follows protagonist Raff Semmes, who sets out to save the Nokobee wilderness from developers. The novel explores a concurrent civil war between rival ant colonies struggling to dominate the riverine wilderness.[2]
