The Liodes Hairtail (Anthene liodes) is a butterfly of the Lycaenidae family. It is found from Sierra Leone to Kenya, then to Malawi, Zimbabwe and Angola. It is also found in South Africa, where it rare and found from KwaZulu-Natal to Swaziland, Mpumalanga and the Limpopo Province.
The wingspan is 21–25 mm for males and 21–27 mm for females. Adults are on wing year round, with a peak in summer.[2]
The larvae feed on Mangifera (including Mangifera indica), Combretum, Myrica and Allophyllus species
