Ankahi

Ankahi was an Urdu drama serial broadcast by Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) in 1982. The drama was written by Haseena Moin and directed by Shoaib Mansoor and Mohsin Ali.. The drama serial featured an ensemble star cast including Shehnaz Sheikh, Shakeel, Javed Sheikh, Saleem Nasir, Jamshed Ansari, Behroze Sabzwari, Badar Khalil, Qazi Wajid, Azra Mansoor, Khalid Nizami, Arshad Mehmood, Tabasum Farooqui and Syed Mustafa Faisal Bilal.

Synopsis

The story revolves around a young ambitious girl Sana Murad (Shahnaz Sheikh). Due to her father's early death, her family is not so well off and she dreams day and night to be rich and prosperous like her friend Sara (Misbah Khalid). Her younger brother Jibran has a hole in his heart and they need money for his operation as well. Hence she applies for a job at an office. Due to major blunders and her irresponsible manner, she fails the interview, but on the way back meets the chairman Mr Siddiqui (Qazi Wajid) who offers her the job anyway. She begins working for the MD of the company Taimur (ShakeelÞ). Sana is clumsy, irresponsible and does not even know how to type and that causes Taimur great problems and some hilarious situations for the viewers. At her friend Sara's wedding her groom Sajjad(Arshad Mehmood)'s best friend Faraz (Javed Sheikh) falls for Sana and starts following her everywhere. He even goes to her office and ends up getting a job there, only to be closer to Sana.

Meanwhile her aunt Zakia (Badar Khalil) arrives from America with her son Moby (Behroz Sabzwari) for a visit. Since her mamu (Saleem Nasir) had written to her that they have become rich and famous, they start to pretend being rich even to the extent of convincing their neighbor Timmy (Jamshed Ansari) to act as their butler. After many hilarious antics, the truth is finally revealed and auntie decides to buy a big house for all to move in. The control of the family is now in Zakia's hands. Now the two sisters plan to get their children, Sana and Moby married. Both refuse as Sana by now is interested in Taimur and Moby loves Marium daughter of their tenant for land crops. Complications for both the cousins begins. After Moby's insistence Zakia accepts his marriage with Marium. Jibran becomes friends with Faraz as he comes to their house to meet Sana. Sana's Family start liking Faraz and Sajjad talks with them for Sana. Jibran goes to USA with his mother for a successful heart operation and returns.

Meanwhile Sana gets closed to Taimur whose wife Abeer is a comatose and he seeks happiness in Sana but what he does not know is that it will become difficult for them later on. Faraz constantly reminds Sana of her situation of going after a mirage (Horizon) and expresses his love for her. She shuts him away every time until a time when Abeer gets operated and Taimur is reminded by Mr. Siddiqui of her ignorance on the day of operation when he finds him with Sana in the office. Taimur accepts his mistakes and Sana, feeling guilt, resigns from the job. Taimur goes to her house to tell her that she should move on and realize Faraz's love and tells her there are unsaid (Unkahi) things that he couldn't say and departs. Abeer dies after a second operation, Sana & Faraz goes to Taimur's House where they meet Siddiqui sahab. Faraz leaves Sana expecting her to go for Taimur but she leaves with him reassuring her consent for him.
