Anish Sood (born November 22, 1989) is an Indian electronic dance music producer and DJ.

Biography

Anish Sood was born and brought up in Goa, India. He attended high school in Vasco da Gama, Goa. Anish holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Goa Engineering College. He started DJing in high school at the age of 16 and soon gained popularity for the college parties he organized and performed at. He quickly moved on to playing local nightclubs in Goa and soon exploded on to the Indian dance music scene in 2011 with regular nightclub and festival appearances.[1]

A sign of his rapid rise to fame, he has been booked to play at major Indian festivals, including the Sunburn Festival in Goa,[2][3] and Invasion Festival in Pune and Bangalore.[4] He has also performed at other major festivals such as NH7 Weekender in Pune, and Storm Festival in Coorg.

Anish has performed alongside artists such as Gareth Emery,[5] Steve Aoki, Laidback Luke, Fedde Le Grand, Felix Da Housecat[6] and performed as direct support to David Guetta on his maiden India tour in 2012.[7][8]

Music career

Anish released his debut international single in 2011 on Trance legend Marcel Woods's imprint Musical Madness. It was subsequently re-released on the Dutch label High Contrast Recordings. In April 2012, he released his first EP on Dutch sensation Miss Nine's 925 Music label featuring vocals by Indian singer/songwriter Ramona Arena.[9]

The music video for 'Wanna Be Your Only Love' was released exclusively on VH1 India in May 2012.[10][11]

Anish remixed American singer/songwriter Nadia Ali in 2010 for the official Sunburn Festival compilation on Indian major label Times Music. More recently he completed a remix for Teenu Arora's new single Dreams, released on Miami based label Pearlicka Records.

He also won the MyFav Best House DJ and the DJ of the year 2013.[12]

Anish also hosts the weekly Sunburn Festival podcast, Sunburn on Air. The podcast is fairly popular in India and has featured guestmixes by artists such as Afrojack and Paul van Dyk[13]

Hello World Tour

In August 2013, Anish announced a 6 city tour in to promote his new single "Hello World" with Ramona Arena.[14][15][16] They performed in New Delhi, Kolkata, Goa, Pune, Mumbai and Bangalore with Anish DJing and Ramona singing live.
