Anine Bing

Anine Irmelin Bing (30 November 1982 in Denmark) is a Danish Designer and the founder of her eponymous fashion brand ANINE BING. She is also well known for her blog www.aninesworld.com

Early years

Bing was born in Denmark on 30 November 1982. At age 7, Bing started to take violin lessons, but eventually turned to singing. She honed her singing skills with the prestigious Royal Danish Academy of Music choir. At age 10, her family emigrated from Copenhagen (they had lived in the suburb Brønshøj) to Sweden because of her father's career.[1] Despite spending most of her life in Sweden, she declares her nationality as Danish. She also claims to be ¼ Brazilian descent.[2]

Career

Design

Bing has been in the fashion industry since the age of 15. Besides music and modeling, Bing has done several design collaborations with different brands. Eventually Anine began dreaming about making her own clothing line, a dream which finally became true. In the summer of 2012 her self-titled clothing line was launched and it became an instant success.

Bing says: “I want to create clothes that are easy to wear. The pieces should work just as good for everyday use as for a night out. To me the quality together with the fit are the two most important factors in a good piece of clothing, so naturally that’s what I focus on in the design”

“I am a mom, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting to dress well. My aim is that regardless if you are a mom, a model, a lawyer or a teacher you should be able to find cool and suitable pieces from my label”.

The clothes are made of the finest materials, all according to Anine’s rock-bohemian style. Anine gets her inspiration from music, L.A. flea markets, bloggers and from life at large.

Modeling

Bing started her modeling career by the age of 15 and has appeared on covers of many magazines during the years. She has modeled for Ellos, JC and Triumph amongst others. She has also been in advertisements for Message, Ragno, and Stadium.

In 2002, the City of Birmingham banned a billboard of Bing for being too distracting. The billboards were part of a £1 million nationwide "For Play" campaign by Italian sportswear company, Ellesse. However, Ellesse agreed with the Council and took them down..

Music

From a young age, Bing has had a passion for music. In recent years, Bing has turned her professional focus to music. Anine Bing was first noticed in 2004 by the head of A & R at Universal Sweden, where she was living at the time. He described her voice as “quirky and promising”. ”Through her songwriting she has surpassed all expectations with the quality of, and the dedication to her art,” says Grammy-nominated songwriter/producer Eric Bazilian. She has developed a character somewhat unique to herself, Anine does credit some of her biggest musical inspirations including, Marianne Faithful, Claudine Longet, John Lennon, and Dolores O’Riordan. “You have to hear Anine to experience Anine -- the sweetness in her voice is indescribable, evocative, and inspiring,” adds Bazilian. Bing has also written music together with other well known song writers such as Guy Chambers and Anders Bagge
