Andrew D. Luster

Andrew D. Luster, MD, PhD, is the Persis, Cyrus and Marlow B. Harrison Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and the Chief of the Division of Rheumatology, Allergy and Immunology at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is Director of its Research Center for Immunology and Inflammatory Diseases, and a member of the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center's Cancer Immunology program.[1]

His laboratory is interested in defining the roles of chemokines and lipid chemoattractant molecules in autoimmune, allergic, and infectious diseases.

Biography

Luster received a B.S, from Duke University in 1981, a PhD from Rockefeller University in 1987, and a MD from Cornell University Medical College in 1988, He had a clinical residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, and a postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School. In 1994 he joined the regular staff as MGH, and in 2000 became the initial chief of their Division of Rheumatology.[2]

He is a member of the Autoimmune Disease Scientific Advisory Board, of Idera Pharmaceuticals, and the Scientific Advisory Board of Bionaut Pharmaceuticals,[3]
