Andrea Michelle Neu (born August 23, 1991) is an American beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned as Miss Earth United States 2014[1] that gave her the right to represent United States at Miss Earth 2014. Last November 29, 2014, Andrea was chosen as 1st Runner-Up or Miss Earth Air in Miss Earth 2014 in the Philippines.[2][3][4][5][6][7]

Prior in joining Miss Earth United States, Andrea already won the title of Miss US International 2013 and represented USA in the Miss International beauty pageant in 2013.[8]

By winning two national beauty pageants, Andrea is considered to be the first American woman to hold two national beauty titles.[1]

Early life

Andrea Neu is the daughter of Darrell Neu from Bridgeport, Nebraska and Leanne Neu of Ute, Iowa. She was born and raised in Pueblo, Colorado and graduated from Pueblo County High School and Fort Lewis College. Andrea has been a competitive figure skater for more than 12 years and was also involved in 4-H. She chose to enter pageants because she stated that it could open doors for her and help her with her shyness and the playing dress up part was also fun for her.[8]

Andrea Neu was called as part of the Top 15 semifinalists. However, she did not advance as one of the Top 5 finalists.

The pageant was won by Bea Santiago of the Philippines.[9][10]

Miss Earth 2014

"I have traveled to a number of different countries and have enjoyed learning about different cultures and making new friends. I would love the opportunity to travel and work on behalf of Miss Earth as an ambassador and advocate for Mother Earth!"

—Andrea Neu's message for Miss Earth.

By winning Miss Earth United States, Andrea flew to the Philippines in November to compete with among other 84 candidates to be Alyz Henrich's[12][13] successor as Miss Earth.

As a Miss Earth delegate, an environmental advocacy is a must. Based from Miss Earth's website, Andrea's advocacy is the preservation of national parks and wilderness areas. She says that she has this passion for the protection and to maintain those natural areas for future generations to enjoy.

During the entire run of the pre - pageant activities, Andrea won a silver medal award for "Best Teacher" in her group, bronze medal for evening gown competition, gold medal for the resort's wear competition and another silver medal for the swimsuit competition.

At the conclusion of the pageant, she was declared as the Miss Earth - Air 2014. The Miss Earth 2014 title was won by Jamie Herrell of the Philippines.
