Andleeb is a Pakistan Urdu colour film starring Waheed Murad, Shabnam, Aliya, Lehri, Mustafa Qureshi, Ibrahim Nafees, Talish and many others.[1] The film is a musical love story based on Salma Kanwal's novel.[2] The film was produced by Rashid Mukhtar under the banner of Nigar Pictures. Fareed Ahmed was the director and Nisar Bazmi was the music director of the film. The film became a huge success and for his role in the film, Waheed Murad was awarded the best actor award of the year in the Nigar Awards.[3] The film ran for 56 weeks continuously in Karachi cinemas and thus became a Golden Jubilee film.

Release

Andaleeb was released on August 29, 1969 on Rivali Cinema of Karachi by Nigar Pictures.[1] The film became a huge success across the nation and ran continuously for 56 weeks with 20 weeks on main cinema and thus became the Golden Jubilee film. During the same year Pakistan's first Diamond Jubilee film Zarqa starring Ijaz was released by Riaz Shahid, which became the best film of the year. Whereas, the award for best actor went to Waheed Murad for his outstanding performance in the film.

Music

The music of the film was composed by well-known musician Nisar Bazmi. The song Kuch log rooth kar be lagte hain kitne pyare was one of his remarkful numbers. Songs of the film are:
