Anarkismo.net is an international anarchist-communist, platformist and especifista news and discussion website. Its news service is one of the select publishers included in the Google News aggregator. It was launched on 1 May 2005. Besides news and analyses, Anarkismo.net serves as a means of increasing cooperation between organisations in the platformist and especifista traditions.
Since its launch it has published over 22,000 articles in a variety of languages, including English, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Turkish, Greek, Norwegian, Danish, Dutch, Arabic, Polish, German, Haitian Kreyol, Kurdish, Catalan and Chinese. Roughly thirty organisations are affiliated to the project, with Latin American groups the largest cluster by continent.
Purpose
The website aims to collect and distribute news and analyses produced by various platformist, anarcho-communist and especifista anarchist groups and organizations from throughout the world. By doing so, those involved hope to facilitate debate and discussion of platformist and especifist ideas, and improve communication between such organisations globally. The site is also intended to bring anarchist ideas to a wider audience and encourage more people interested in social change to join and form platformist and anarchist communist groups, and to network such groups.
The site is divided into several parts. The home page contains featured articles; these are articles held to be particularly important and topical. All featured articles are approved following a vote within the Editorial Group. The main newswire hosts articles provided by participating organizations and writers. The articles in this section must not contradict the editorial policies of the site. The other press section contains articles from sources which do not qualify for inclusion on the main newswire. They are divided into two categories: other libertarian press, for articles from anarchist sources which are not in agreement with the site's Editorial Statement, and non-anarchist press, for articles from other sources. Articles in the other press category are published because they are generally believed to contain important information or opinions, despite possibly being in contradiction with the site's editorial policy. An important feature of the site is the ability to comment on the articles and engage in debate on their content.
Organization
The site is managed by a collective of delegates from the participating organizations. All decisions regarding the site and its development are made by this collective, which uses an online forum and mailing list for its communications. Also decided by collective vote are the articles to be featured on the front page of the site. As article submissions and comments to articles are open, the editorial collective is also responsible for ensuring that articles and comments posted to the site comply with the Anarkismo editorial statement.
The following organizations have declared their agreement with the Anarkismo Editorial Statement and are thus entitled to nominate a delegate to the Editorial Collective of Anarkismo.net:
