Anantara Phuket Villas is located by the Mai Khao Beach in Phuket, Thailand. The resort which belongs to the Minor Hotel Group was designed by Habita Architects Company^[1] and has been open to guests since 2008.^[1] The landscaping of the property was done by architect Bill Bensley.

History

Anantara Phuket Villas was unveiled in October 2008 under the hotel chain Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas. Anantara brand belongs to Minor International PLC based in Thailand. The company owns over 97 properties in the hospitality & travel sector which includes aside from Anantara, AVANI Hotels, Per AQUUM, Four Seasons and Marriott International.

The Mai Khao Marine Turtle Foundation

Mai Khao is among the few beaches in Phuket which is receptive of nesting turtles. The The Mai Khao Marine Turtle Foundation was set up by the Minor Hotel group in 2002 ^[10] to help the conservation of the turtle population. The eggs are rescued and given to Phuket Marine Biological Centre (PMBC) and the Royal Thai Navy who provides protection to the eggs and to turtle hatchlings before being released to the ocean.^[11] The foundation provides the necessary funds for the process.
