Amuru is a town in Northern Uganda. It is the main municipal, administrative and commercial centre of Amuru. The district is named after the town.
Location
Amuru is located west of the main Gulu-Nimule Road, approximately 60 kilometres (37 mi), by road, northwest of Gulu, the largest city in the sub-region.[1] The approximate coordinates of the town are: 3°03'36.0"N, 32°18'18.0"E (Latitude:3.0600; Longitude:32.3050). The coordinates are approximate because the town does not yet show on most publicly available maps.

Amuru is one of the towns in Amuru District, the others being: (a) Atiak (b) Bibia and (c) Pabbo.
