Amtali (Bengali: আমতলী) is an Upazila of Barguna District[1] in the division of Barisal, Bangladesh.
Geography
Amtali is at 22°07′46″N 90°13′44″E / 22.1294°N 90.2289°E. It has 45,804 households and a total area of 720.76 km².
Demographics
As of the 1991 Bangladesh census, Amtali had a population of 244,438. Males constituted 50.39% of the population and females 49.61%. The population aged 18 or over was 119,889. Amtali has an average literacy rate of 33.9% (7+ years); the national average is 62.4%.[2]
Administration
Amtali has two police stations (Amtoli and Taltoli), 10 unions/wards, 66 mauzas/mahallas, and 186 villages.
