Amrita Raichand is an actress, model, and anchor who stars in the TV show Mummy ka Magic.

Early life and education

Raichand (née Saluja) grew up in the TATA township in Dhanbad, where her father worked as the General Manager. She studied at The Carmel School Dhanbad and graduated from St. Xavier's College in Mumbai.

When in college, she took up marketing management as her family desired her to work with a reputed multinational firm. She also studied computer graphics at a post graduate level. In both school and university she performed on stage in various cultural functions and competitions, which led to her being discovered and chosen as the brand ambassador for "Ponds' Dream Fairness Cream" during her second year of college.

Raichand then pursued a career in endorsements for brands including Whirlpool Home Appliances, as well as anchoring game shows on TV, award functions like the WOW awards, Big Nite, Ace Tech awards for builders, etc. She also began acting in the Yash Raj TV series Mahi Way, as the self-obsessed, sultry elder sister of Mahi, the title character. Her performance was critically acclaimed.Her new show "Mummy ka magic" which is telecast on "Food Food" channel received the award for "Best cookery show" at the Indian telly awards 2012.

Acting career

She had starred in a telefilm in 1997 called Humko Ishq Ne Maara and later in another tele series called Timebomb 9/11.

She is making her film debut with Baat Bann Gayi, co-star Anisa Butt, Ali Fazal and Gulshan Grover released on October 11, 2013 and recently worked in Kaanchi as third wife of Rishi Kapoor [1]
