Amityville: The Awakening is an upcoming American supernatural horror film and the fourteenth installment in the Amityville saga. It will be directed by Franck Khalfoun, produced by Jason Blum, Daniel Farrands, and Casey La Scala, and written by Farrands, La Scala, and Khalfoun. It stars Bella Thorne, Cameron Monaghan, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Thomas Mann, and Kurtwood Smith.
Plot
Belle, her little sister Juliet, and her comatose twin brother James move into a new house with their single mother Joan in order to save money to help pay for her brother's expensive healthcare. But when strange phenomena begin to occur in the house including the miraculous recovery of her brother and Belle's increasingly horrifying nightmares, Belle begins to suspect her mother isn't telling her everything and soon realizes they just moved into the infamous Amityville house.

Production
Dimension Films is making the new film previously titled The Amityville Horror: The Lost Tapes for a January 2, 2015 release with Franck Khalfoun directing. Daniel Farrands and Casey La Scala co-wrote the script with Khalfoun and are expected to produce with Jason Blum. In March 2014, the film was retitled Amityville. Jennifer Jason Leigh and Bella Thorne are attached to star.[1][2][3] On August 22, 2014, a trailer was released and was re-titled Amityville: The Awakening. On September 19, 2014, the film was removed from Dimension Films' release schedule and is currently looking for a new release date.[4]
