Amir Rrahmani (born 24 February 1994) is an Albanian professional footballer who plays as a Defender for Albanian club Partizani Tirana and the Albania national team. Being born in 1994, he is also still eligible to represent the Albania national under-21 football team at the 2017 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.
Early life
Rrahmani was born in Pristina to Albanian Parents who were originally from Skenderaj.
Career
KF Drenica
Rrahmani began his career as a youth at KF Drenica where he was promoted to the senior team during the 2011–12 campaign. In the summer of 2012 he began a trial with Albanian Superliga side Kastrioti Krujë which was a successful one. Following the trial he and the club agreed personal terms, but the deal did not go through as Kastrioti Krujë and his then current team KF Drenica could not agree on a transfer.[1]
Partizani Tirana
The following season he remained at KF Drenica where he impressed once again despite his young age, which lead to a move with newly promoted 15-time champions of Albania FK Partizani Tirana.[2]
International career
Albania U21
First he was called up for a friendly match of the Albania national under-21 football team against Macedonia u-21 side in February 2013.[3]
He came as a later upcoming in the Albania U21's last 4 matches for the 2015 UEFA European Under-21 Championship in last 4 months of the tournament, exactly from August to November (2013).[4]
Kosovo
He capped once for Kosovo national football team in a sanctioned match by FIFA on 21 May 2014 against Senegal. He played the full 90-minutes match, which finished in the 3–1 loss.[5]
Albania
He called up by the Albania senior side coach Gianni De Biasi for the friendly match on 8 June 2014 against San Marino. He made it his debut against San Marino by coming on as a substitute in place of the fellow 20-years old defender Elseid Hysaj in the 82nd minute of the match, which finished as a 0–3 away victory.[6]
