Amina Adil (c. 1930 – 16 November 2004) was a Tatar writer and Islamic theologian.
Biography
Adil was born as one of four children in an Islamic tataric family in Kasan, TASSR, UdSSR. Due to harassment from the communist regime, the family fled first to Eleskirt, and then to Erzurum in Turkey. After 10 years they migrated from there to Damascus. Adil studied Islamic jurisprudence by Sheikh Salih Farfour, Sheikh Mukhtar Alayli and Sheikh Abdullah Fa'izi ad-Daghestani Sufism. In 1952 Adil married Sheikh Nazim and they had five children. The eldest, Naziha, married Sheikh Hisham Kabbani.
While Adil was in Damascus, and during her settlement in Northern Cyprus in Lefke, she led the women's Dhikr and instructed women in Sufism and in Naqshbandi Tariqat. She died in November 2004 in Lefke, Northern Cyprus.
