American Ultra is an upcoming action comedy film directed by Nima Nourizadeh and written by Max Landis.[1][2] The film stars Jesse Eisenberg, Kristen Stewart, Connie Britton, Topher Grace, John Leguizamo, Bill Pullman, Walton Goggins, and Tony Hale. The film is scheduled to be released on August 21, 2015, by Lionsgate.
Plot
American Ultra is about how "a stoner and his girlfriend's sleepy, small-town existence is disrupted when his past comes back to haunt him in the form of a government operation set to wipe him out."

Production
On November 21, 2013, Aspara Distribution announced that they had acquired the rights to distribute the film outside the United States.[4] On March 1, 2014, Lionsgate announced their acquisition of the North American rights to the film.[4]
Filming
Filming began on April 14, 2014 in the New Orleans area and wrapped in mid-June.[5][6]
Release
The film is scheduled to be released on August 21, 2015, by Lionsgate.[7]
