Ameer-ud-Din Medical College
Ameer-ud-Din Medical College (Urdu:امیرالدین میڈیکل کالج) (abbreviated as ADMC; also known as PGMI Medical College), established in 2012, is one of the six public colleges of medicine located in, Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan.It is established on the initiative of CM Shehbaz Sharif to give quality education in the region Punjab and especially in Lahore. It is registered with PMDC, listed in IMED, affiliated with PGMI and UHS, and approved by Ministry of Health. Lahore General Hospital is attached as training and teaching hospital.
History
An inspection team from University of Health Sciences (UHS) visited the newly established college in late April 2012. The UHS was then affiliated with the college as its degree-awarding university.[1] The college currently shares the campus with Postgraduate Medical Institute (PGMI). In a press release it was stated by the principal Dr. Anjum Habib Vohra that college will shift to its new building by the time the first batch of students reach the final year. "It will take two to three years to shift the AMC to its permanent building.” he said.[2]
