Ambrose Madtha

Ambrose Madtha (November 2, 1955 December 8, 2012) was the Roman Catholic archbishop of Naissus and the nuncio to Ivory Coast.[1]

Born in Belthangady, India, in 1955. Madtha studied Philosophy and Theology at St. Charles Seminary, Nagpur and obtained doctorate in canon law from Urban University in Rome. He was ordained a priest in 1982. In 2008 was named titular archbishop and nuncio to Ivory Coast.[2] He was ordained bishop by Jean-Louis Tauran on 27 July 2008.

He had served apostolic nunciatures in Ghana, El Salvador, the Republic of Georgia, Albania and Republic of China (Taiwan).
