Amber Alejo Rowley Davis (born July 29, 1985 in Mesa, Arizona), simply known as Amber, is a Filipino-American singer.

Early life

Amber was born to parents Gary and Cecilia Rowley. She has seven siblings, two sisters, Hershey Lyn Rowley Long and Misty Blue Rowley Handley, and five brothers, Gary James, Jeffrey, John, Joseph and Jason Rowley. At the age of five, Amber and her parents moved to the Philippines. There she learned more about her mother's heritage and her passion for music. She was featured in commercials for Goya, Hi-C and Aji-no-moto, and was a regular visitor in That's Entertainment. She was also a regular in Pen-Pen de Sarapen, a children's show broadcast on RPN 9.

2000s

After high school, she moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue her singing career. She was background vocalist to singers Hilary Duff and Kashiff. In 2004, she signed with W.A.R. Entertainment for two singles for the movie soundtrack Playa's Ball. She then moved to Osaka, Japan to become lead vocalist of rock and hip hop show Enwhy at Universal Studios Japan.

After her contract with Universal, she signed with VIVA Records. Her debut album Feel Good Music was released in June 2006. The album contained the song "Manila", which became a hit in the Philippines. It topped both radio and video charts.

Amber left VIVA Records and then changed her name to Amber Davis. In 2007, she released a self-titled album under Bellhaus Entertainment. Singles from this album include "Radio", a partial cover of Donna Summer's "On the Radio", and a midtempo R&B ballad called "Back Into You", both of which received considerable amount of radio airplay. "Back Into You" became the first OPM song to reach number one on mainstream radio in 2007. Amber's videos for both "Radio" and "Back Into You" were at the time some of the most requested videos in the Philippines, and were also in the top 10 most downloaded ringtones.

Amber was awarded the Awit Award for Best New Female Recording Artist in 2007 and became a presenter for Myx TV, ABS-CBN Global's Asian American cable network in the United States, hosting numerous shows, including MYX P.I., Starcamp, Music Bang, among others.

Amber is married to her producer Marcus Davis Jr.
