Amar Choudhury

Amar Choudhury Bengali: অমর চৌধুরী) (born 1898, date of death unknown) was a Bengali film actor, director, editor and writer. He directed Jamai Shashthi (Bengali: জামাই ষষ্ঠী) in 1931 produced by Madan Theatre Limited, credited as the first Bengali talkie.[1] It was released in the same year as Alam Ara, the first Indian talkie on 11 April 1931 at Crown Cinema Hall in Calcutta.
