Amanda Felicitas Stepto (born July 31, 1970) is a Canadian actress. She is best known for her role as Christine "Spike" Nelson in the Degrassi series.
Personal life
Stepto was born in Montreal, Quebec. Before starring in her role on Degrassi: The Next Generation, she taught English in Japan for a year. She also holds a BA in political science and history from University of Toronto.
She often has to wear high shoes to appear taller on Degrassi, because her partner actor, Stefan Brogren, is 6 ft 4 in tall.
She has several large tattoos that can be seen in her Next Generation episode "Father Figure Part 2", and in a Degrassi Mini episode.
She used to be an avid fan of punk music and has been spotted wearing t-shirts from the bands Scum, The Mission, The Cult, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Sick of it All, Corrosion Of Conformity, and Dead Kennedys. In addition to acting, Stepto DJ's monthly at Toronto's Disgraceland on the first Saturday of each month with her Degrassi costars.
