Amanda Foster

Amanda Foster (Born March 18, 1967) Is an English stunt woman, actress and film director.[1] Foster was honored at the Screen Nation Awards (2011) with the Vanguard Award In Stunt Work & Action Choreography.[2][3]

Career

Foster began her career as an actress, with roles such as Mrs Pepper, in the stage production Hot pepper Lawn (1992), Baby in Pato Banton UB40's Baby come back (1994) and The wife in the award winning Rewind Twist commercial (2000),[4] Foster played Granny West, with Kanye West on the comedy show Friday Night Project (2007).[5][6][7]

Foster joined the British stunt register in 1997. Becoming the first, and as of 2014,[8][9] the only black female registered stunt performer in the UK.[10] She appeared in films such as Da Vinci Code, (2006), Ninja Assassin (2009), Prince of Persia (2010) and five of the Harry Potter films (2005 - 2011), including Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, which claimed the worldwide opening weekend box office record, earning $483.2 million..[11]

She won the Taurus World Stunt Award (2003) for Best Stunt by a Stunt Woman, for her performance doubling Halle Berry, as Bond Girl Jinx on the film Die Another Day (2002).[12]

Foster's performance on the film Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 (2011), along with the stunt team, won Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture, at the 18th Screen Actors Guild Awards (2012).[13][14]

The short film Killer Heels directed by Foster, was shown at the 65th Cannes Film Festival and won the portobello film festival Best newcomer Award in 2013.[15]
