Coordinates: 21°01′23″S 47°22′22″W / 21.02306°S 47.37278°W Altinópolis is a Brazilian municipality of the state of São Paulo. The population in 2010 was 15,609. The area is 929,426 km². The city is known because of its sights, like the Praça das Esculturas, and the wide variety of caves and waterfalls.

Tourism

In Altinópolis five rivers give us 35 waterfalls. San Waterfall | Waterfall and Waterfalls | Cascades for all tastes. And one of them is 72 meters high.

Eight caves in textbooks are part of their tourist itinerary, highlighting the Itambé Cave, which offers a façade of 28 meters and some 350 meters of galleries. The Department of Tourism gives visitors the necessary information and support, the stand of the city was successful in the last Hall of São Paulo Tourism. But the treat for the eyes are the works of Vaccarini.

Museum

The municipality has Altinópolis one of only three open-air museums around the world, i.e. Altinópolis are scattered in the beautiful sculptures of themasterVaccarini Bassano. He was born in Italy (Milan) and arrived in Brazil after World War II, choosing as his Altinópolis great workshop.

Besides being a professor of Visual Arts at FAU-USP (São Paulo) and Unaerp (in Ribeirao Preto, where he lived), it was a costume designer, set designer, director of the Brazilian Comedy Theater, painter and sculptor noted.
