Founded in 1988, ALTEN (Euronext: ATE) is a French engineering and technology consulting company with offices in 14 countries (Europe, India, USA). ALTEN's stock is listed in compartment B of the Euronext Paris market (ISIN FR0000071946); it is part of the SBF 120, the IT CAC 50 index and MIDCAP 100, and is eligible for the Deferred Settlement Service (SRD).
In 2011, ALTEN achieved a turnover of 1,065 million euros, a third of which was generated outside France.
Introduction
ALTEN supports the development strategy of its customers in the fields of innovation, R&D and IT. Its 14,000 engineers carry out studies and conception projects for Technical and IT divisions of major clients in Ground Transportation (Automotive and Rail), Aerospace and Defense, Energy and Life Sciences, Telecommunications, and Finance/Services. ALTEN covers the whole product development cycle with its specialized companies, and provides a range of services from technological consulting to projects outsourcing.

Labor disputes in Alten Spain
From July to December 2012, Alten Spain has fired more than a hundred employees, claiming a sales decrease.
In December 2012 Alten Spain tried to fire 140 of its employees and impose a 10% pay cut on the rest. As a consequence, Alten workers called for strike in January 2013.[2][3][4][5]
