Alphonsea maingayi is a species of plant in the Annonaceae family. It is endemic to Sri Lanka.

Leaves

ovate to elliptic to lanceolate, ends acute, lateral veins about 7-12 pairs.

Trunk

Bark - smooth, gray.

Flowers

Inflorescence - sessile, pubescent.

Fruits

globose, densely fine tomentose, hard and woody.

Ecology

intermediate and montane forest subcanopy of lower montan and intermediate zones of Sri Lanka.
