Allison Leigh Alderson DeMarcus is an American actress, TV Host and beauty queen who has competed in the Miss Teen USA, Miss USA and Miss America pageants. She is considered a Triple Crown winner because she has held state titles in each system. Alderson is married to Jay DeMarcus, the bassist in the band Rascal Flatts.[1]

Biography

Alderson grew up in Jackson, Tennessee, and is a graduate of the University School of Jackson. She graduated cum laude with a degree in business administration. from Rhodes College in 1999, where she served as president of the Chi Omega sorority. She won the Wall Street Journal Award for Excellence in Finance because she was the top finance student in her graduating class. As part of the Bryce Harlow Institute of Business and Government Affairs she has also studied at Georgetown University in Washington, DC.[2] Alderson's sister Amy held the Miss District of Columbia USA 1999 title, at the same time that Alderson was Miss Tennessee. Alderson's sister is married, also, to country artist James Otto. Alderson was Miss Tennessee Teen USA 1994, Miss Tennessee 1999 and Miss Tennessee USA 2002.

On May 15, 2004, Alderson married Jay DeMarcus, bassist/pianist in the band Rascal Flatts. They met while she was in the video for These Days. Their first child, a daughter, named Madeline Leigh DeMarcus, was born on December 17, 2010, at 4:49 p.m. weighing 6 pounds and 9 ounces. She gave birth to the couple's first son, Dylan Jay DeMarcus, on July 20, 2012 at 4:02 p.m. weighing 7 pounds and 11 ounces. Alderson currently works on CMT's new hit show Hot20 Countdown and hosted the 2013 CMT Music Awards Live Red Carpet Show with Katie Cook and Cody Alan. She is the regular host of the Miss Tennessee pageant held in her hometown of Jackson, Tennessee. In January 2007, Alderson served as the Roving Reporter for the Miss America Pageant. Mario Lopez served as host. She was CMT's pageant correspondent for the Miss America pageant and filmed behind-the-scenes look for CMT Insider. Alderson served as host for People Magazine Country Special Edition on CMT and served as a correspondent for CMT Insider where she interviewed everyone from Shia LaBeouf to Dolly Parton. She was a correspondent for CMT's Top 20 Countdown, was featured in CMT's Summer of Music campaign, as well as serving as "Style Judge" for CMT's Karaoke Dokey and hosted CMT's Extreme Makeover:Quickbooks Edition. She has hosted the Red Carpet Show for the CMT Music Awards live from Nashville, Tennessee and is CMT's red carpet correspondent for the CMA, ACM, AMA, and CMT Music Awards. She hosted "The Life, The Legend, The King: A Tribute to Elvis Presley" and the CMA Red Carpet show, both for TVGuide Network. Alderson has also been featured on CMT's 100 Greatest Videos, Southern Fried Flicks, Guntucky's Gun Safety Course, Sweet Home Alabama: Outtakes and Updates, CMT's 40 Sexiest Videos, CMT Videobabes and her home was featured on Good Morning America's Country Cribs.

Alderson has been featured in People magazine promoting her show, "People Magazine on CMT." Nashville Lifestyles featured Alderson and her dog, Priscilla, as the magazine's "Person of Style," chose her as one of Nashville's Most Beautiful People and placed her on top of The Hot List: Hottest Girl All Over Town. Sophisticate's Hairstyle featured Alderson in "10 Questions with Allison DeMarcus" and Alderson was a featured columnist for Country Weekly magazine. When she is not on camera, Alderson serves on the Board of Directors for Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, The Women's Fund of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, the Make A Wish Foundation of Middle Tennessee and The Miss Tennessee Scholarship Pageant. She also volunteers for Chi Omega Fraternity, The Nashville Symphony League, Nashville Humane Association, Nashville Ballet, Second Harvest Food Bank, Nashville Alliance, and the Oasis Center.
