Allan Kingdom
Allan Kyariga better known by his artistic name Allan Kingdom (born in Winnipeg, Canada in 1994) is a Canadian rapper and songwriter now based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He was featured on Kanye West's international single "All Day" that also features Theophilus London and Paul McCartney.
Career
Kingdom was born in Canada to a South African father and a Tanzanian mother. In his youth, he moved to Wisconsin and eventually to Saint Paul, Minnesota where he resides. In earlier releases, he also used various aliases including Peanut Butter Prince and The Northern Gentleman. At 9, he recorded some Christian rap with Martin, in a local church-related recording studio.
He studied at Woodbury High School and Creative Arts High School and Minneapolis Institute of Production and Recording. At 17, he got the attention of music veterans Plain Pat and Jonathan Kaslow, and at 20 he worked with The Weeknd's producer Doc McKinney and Kanye West's associate Virgil Abloh. He is also a member of the Minnesota-based music formation thestand4rd with Corbin (formerly known as Spooky Black), Psymun and Bobby Raps[1] that published its self-titled album in 2014.
His first major release was "Talk to Strangers" in the summer of 2013, that he wrote, produced and recorded independently. With his follow-up EP Future Memoirs, he was featured on cover of Vita in the Twin Cities, performed in Minneapolis Soundset Festival, and named "Best Hip Hop Artist of 2014" by City Pages. Nationally he was listed on Complex's "Top 25 Rappers to Watch in 2014".
