All in All Azhagu Raja is a 2013 Indian Tamil romantic comedy film written and directed by M. Rajesh.[1] It featured Karthi, Prabhu, Kajal Aggarwal and Santhanam in the lead roles. The film was released on 2 November 2013.[2] The film received mixed reviews from critics. It was a "Flop" at the Box Office[3]
Plot
Azhagu Raja (Karthik), the only son of the Muthukrishnan family, owns an unpopular cable channel named "Triple A". There are only two employees, one being Raja and other Kalyanam (Santhanam) in the TV channel. No matter what they do, neither TRPs nor revenues were improving. Azaghu Raja, accidentally, comes across Devi Priya (Kajal Aggarwal). Instead of trying to impress her, Azhagu Raja picks up a fight with Devi Priya when she sings a song at a marriage. Her weird singing songs irk him and eventually, makes him to express his anger on her singing abilities. Sooner or later she realises that her singing is very bad. Finally Azaghu Raja is proved correct as Kajal fails in every single thing she attempts, including suicide attempts. As they start liking each other, Azaghu Raja tells about Devi Priya to his father. By telling about Priya, a flashback of Muthukrishan opens up. It has been noted that Raja steps into Muthukrishna's story set in the 80s. Muthukrishnan's flashback shows us that he was working with a friend's grand father played by (Nassar) and he had left the job after he was insulted by him. Muthukrishnan rejects Raja's marriage, so does Kandhaswamy, Priya's father. Soon, Muthukrishnan and Kandhaswamy meet up and is then realised that Kalyanam's father was the main reason for everything. Following this, Priya and Azaghu Raja unite together. .[4]

Production
Rajesh first announced a project called Kaagitha Kappal with Karthi but the project was shelved due to some reasons and Rajesh went on to do Oru Kal Oru Kannadi.[5] Rajesh announced in 2012 that his project with Karthi is titled as "All in All Azhaguraja",[6] named after a character played by Goundamani in the film Vaidehi Kaathirundhal.[7] Rajesh's usual comedian Santhanam would provide the comic relief. Kajal Aggarwal was selected as heroine uniting with Karthi for second time after Naan Mahaan Alla.[8][9] Narain and Prabhu have also been roped in,[10] but Narain denied being a part of the film.[11] The team did test shoots, and started to make still shoots on 2 March 2013, which would be followed by the first shooting schedule.[12]
Release
The satellite rights of the film were sold to Sun TV. The film's first look teaser released on 6 September 2013.[13] The theatrical trailer was released on 9 October 2013.[14]
Reception
All in All Azhagu Raja received mixed reviews from critics.[3] Baradwaj Rangan wrote, "What a wretched, bloated, unfunny mess this is, with the ugliest segues between comedy and melodrama in recent memory. Scenes go on and on with no point, and as a result, the film goes on and on pointlessly".[15] Rediff.com gave it 1.5 stars out of 5 and wrote, "All in All Azhagu Raja is an absolutely ridiculous and tortuously long romantic comedy film that seriously tests your patience".[16] Sify wrote, "All in All Azhaguraja falls flat on its face... it is an ordeal to sit through this profoundly irritating film...it lacks basic storyline and took the audiences for granted. The film has no real script to speak of, at best a skeletal plot" and in its final verdict termed the film as a "Big Bore".[17] Prakash Upadhyaya of OneIndia called it "A comedy story presented in a boring way".[18] Behindwoods said, "All in All Azhaguraja lacks the Rajesh - Santhanam magic" and rated it 2.25 / 5.0.[19] Indiaglitz gave the verdict as "Rajesh misses the boundary this time!".[20]
