History
Construction began in January 2007 on a multipurpose hall and five additional classrooms to meet increasing enrolment needs and an expected expansion of the school curriculum. The multipurpose hall was in part meant to allow for school assemblies and other large meetings indoors (the school had been holding those events in a covered, outdoor basketball court).[1]
On Saturday 1 November 2003 (All Saint's Day) arson destroyed the main office and all staff rooms of the school. Five vehicles responded to the 1:30 a.m. report. Firefighters battled the flames for more than an hour.[2]
College Patrons
The Patron Saints of the college are:
- Father Oscar Romero (1917–1980)
- Mother Teresa Of Calcuta (1910–1997)[3]
Science Blocks
In 2010, Construction started for a new science block, that will allow the students to pursue even greater paths in their career than the current science block. This science block was completed for use in the closing months of the same year.
The block consists of specialised 4 labs (L1, L2, L3, L4) for each of the science subjects taught; Senior Science, Physics, Biology, Chemistry but are not limited to these subjects where other courses such as Engineering are also taught.
The science block also contains of an Assistant's Lab where the Lab Assistant prepares and formulates the equipment and chemicals required by the students and teachers during the course. Within this "No Student Access" Lab houses the Storage Rooms/Areas where numerous cabinets and shelving units hold all the utilities utilised in these courses by the school.
